Conceived by a self-taught lover of architecture, Les Arches possesses the innate elegance to reveal itself only to those living within its walls. Florent Moser, a Swiss-born Quebecker, was inspired by his many European travels to create Les Arches, a house that reflects his love of both cultures.
The upper part of the building reminds us of a small barn with naturally-aged silvery wood bleached by the sun. The lower level is hidden from view. When you arrive, it is not possible to know what awaits; you must go down to the first level to take it all in. The floor has been carved out of the ground and is bordered by huge windows, from one end to the other. Five stone arches evoking the architecture of European monateries and bridges are a reminder of power and might.
The orientation of the house is such that it receives maximum sun exposure throughout the day. A pool, situated by a pool house identical to the upper part of the building, adds to the comfort and pleasure of this beautfiul house built in an extraordinary setting!
